1-on-1 Planner Sessions

Book a private, online, screen-share hour and I'll walk you through the AI Retirement Income Planner from the ground up — how it works, how to put your numbers in, and the retirement concepts behind the results — so you finish able to build and question a plan on your own.

See sessions & pricing

Educational instruction only — not financial advice. These sessions teach you how the software works and what the concepts mean, using sample figures or the numbers you choose to share on screen. They are not financial, tax, or legal advice, and no personalised recommendations are given. You keep every decision. See the session terms.
A guided tour

What we'll cover

We move at your pace and focus on what matters to your situation. A typical hour touches most of these.

Setup, the easy way

The guided setup wizard and the Edit tab — building your five-phase plan and entering your numbers without guesswork.

Current tax rates

Importing current tax figures — with or without an AI key — and how the planner keeps its assumptions up to date.

Adding an AI key

How the optional AI assistant works, connecting your own key (the planner runs fully without one), and using AI to look up things like state tax rates.

The audit feature

The self-auditing help system that fact-checks the planner's own text and rules against current law — what it does and when to run it.

A scenario library

Saving plans as JSON files, importing them back, and building a personal library of scenarios — plus comparing saved plans side by side.

Reading the results

Making sense of the outputs that matter — guardrails, the confidence score, the stress test, the Social Security optimizer and drawdown strategies.

Your currency & residence

Setting up the planner for your situation — US, UK, Canada, Australia, the Eurozone or expat — so the tax and healthcare model fits you.

Anything on your mind

Bring your own questions. If there's a corner of the planner you're unsure about, this is the time to ask.

Where to learn more

A tour of the built-in help so you can keep going on your own — see the next section.

The concepts behind the numbers

Understand what the planner is modelling

To get the most from the planner it helps to know a few ideas it relies on. We explain what each one is and why the planner treats it the way it does — plain-English literacy, never a recommendation about your money.

MAGI

Modified Adjusted Gross Income — the figure that drives so many thresholds, and why the planner watches it closely.

ACA subsidies

How health-insurance subsidies work before Medicare, and the income "cliff" the planner helps you see coming.

CSR

Cost-sharing reductions — the extra Silver-plan help many people miss, and where it shows up in the plan.

IRMAA

The Medicare premium surcharges that kick in at higher incomes, and how the planner flags them.

RMDs

Required Minimum Distributions — when they start and why they matter for later-life tax.

Roth conversions

The basic mechanics of converting, and how the planner (and the Roth Optimizer) model the trade-offs.

It's a journey, not a one-off

You'll leave knowing where to keep learning

The planner is built to be self-teaching. Part of the session is a quick tour of everything that's already inside it, so you're never stuck after we hang up:

  • The in-app Help centre — getting started, setup, currencies, calculators, features, strategy and analysis tabs.
  • A first-visit Concepts Primer and a 6-step Setup Wizard.
  • Worked example plans and a full example report you can study.
  • An A–Z Glossary and clickable info popovers throughout the app.
  • A video library of 20+ short tutorials, surfaced right where you need them.
  • Sample "Ask AI about this plan" conversations, the user guide and the free eBook.

Prefer to read first? The How it works and Getting started pages are a good free primer before you book.

What you walk away with

Confidence you can keep

A starter scenario file

We build a plan together during the session and I email you the JSON file afterwards, so you leave with a working starting point you can keep tweaking.

The know-how

You'll be able to set up the planner, run scenarios, and read the results without second-guessing every screen.

A plan you can question

The whole point: understanding the assumptions well enough to challenge them — so the plan you build is one you actually trust.

Good to know

Session FAQ

Is this financial advice?

No. A session is educational instruction — I teach you how the software works and what the concepts mean. It is not financial, tax, or legal advice, I don't give personalised recommendations, and I won't tell you what to do with your money. For advice tailored to your circumstances, speak to a licensed professional. Full details are in the session terms.

Do I need to buy the planner first?

Not necessarily. If you already own it, book the standalone 1-hour session. If you don't, the "1-hour session + the planner" option bundles the software in at a discount so you're ready to go.

What platform do we use?

Google Meet, running in your browser — the link is added to your calendar invite automatically. There's nothing to install and no account to create.

Do I have to share my real financial details?

No. We can work entirely with sample numbers, or with whatever figures you're comfortable showing on screen. Nothing sensitive is required, and I don't ask for account numbers, passwords or the like.

Can I reschedule or cancel?

Yes — please give reasonable notice using the link in your confirmation email. The reschedule, cancellation and refund terms are set out on the session terms page.

What if none of the available times suit me?

Just email dev@webnomad.org with a few times that would work for you and I'll do my best to accommodate them. Once we agree a time that suits us both, you'll receive a calendar invitation by email with the Google Meet link.

What if I don't book a time right after paying?

That's fine. Your scheduling link is emailed to you and stays valid — pick a slot whenever it suits you. If you have any trouble, email dev@webnomad.org.
