Everything you need to write about the AI Retirement Income Planner accurately, without having to email first. Descriptions you can lift as they are, a fact sheet, screenshots and logos.

If something here is missing or you need a detail confirmed, write to dev@webnomad.org — a real person reads that inbox and normally replies the same day.

Descriptions you can copy

Three lengths, so you can take the one that fits your piece rather than compressing a longer one and losing the point of it.

One sentence

The AI Retirement Income Planner is a self-contained retirement planning tool that models your income, tax and healthcare costs phase by phase — bought once, downloaded as a single file, and run privately on your own computer.

About 50 words

The AI Retirement Income Planner models retirement income across the phases of a retirement, including the parts most tools skip: federal and state tax, ACA subsidies before 65, Medicare premiums and IRMAA surcharges afterwards, and cross-border retirement in the UK, Canada, Australia and further afield. It is a one-time purchase that runs entirely on your own machine.

About 150 words

The AI Retirement Income Planner is a retirement income tool built for the years when the arithmetic gets awkward: bridging to Medicare on taxable savings, deciding when to claim Social Security, and judging whether a Roth conversion is worth the tax it triggers.

It works phase by phase rather than as a single average, and it models the costs that usually get left out — federal and state income tax, the ACA subsidy cliff before 65, Medicare Part B and Part D afterwards, and the IRMAA surcharge that follows your income by two years. It also handles retiring abroad, with UK treaty treatment, Canadian and Australian tax, and expat healthcare costs.

Every calculation can be opened up and read step by step, so a figure can be checked rather than trusted. It is a single HTML file: one purchase, no subscription, no account, and nothing leaves the computer it runs on.

What makes it different

If you are comparing it against other retirement calculators, these are the honest points of difference rather than the marketing ones.

  • It shows its working. Every tax, subsidy and premium figure can be expanded into the steps that produced it — thresholds, rates, and which of your numbers went in. Most tools give you an answer and no way to check it.
  • It models healthcare properly. ACA subsidies and the 400% cliff before 65; Medicare Part B, Part D and all six IRMAA brackets afterwards, charged per person and using the two-year income lookback.
  • It works phase by phase. Retirement is not one long averaged year, and the interesting decisions live at the boundaries — the year Social Security starts, the year Medicare begins, the year a bucket runs dry.
  • You own it. One file, one payment. It keeps working if the developer stops, the website goes away, or the internet does.
  • It is built by one person who answers the support email himself.

What it is not

Worth stating plainly, because these are the things most often got wrong in coverage of tools like this:

  • It is not financial advice, and it is not a regulated advisory service. It is a calculator that models the scenarios you give it.
  • It is not a robo-adviser. It does not manage money, hold assets, connect to your accounts or place trades.
  • It is not a subscription and there is no account to create.
  • It does not send your data anywhere. The optional AI features connect to a provider only if you supply your own API key and choose to use them.

Screenshots and logos are free to use in articles, reviews and roundups about the planner, without asking first. Please do not alter the logo or crop screenshots in a way that changes what a figure appears to say.

For screenshots of the planner itself, the features page and the interactive demo show it in use. If you need a particular view at a higher resolution, or a screenshot of a scenario specific to your article, email and it will be produced for you.

Try it before you write about it

The interactive demo runs the real interface with a sample plan and needs no download, no email address and no payment. It is the fastest way to see whether the tool does what this page says it does.

If you are writing a review and would like a full copy, say so in your email and one will be sent — no conditions attached, and no expectation about what you conclude.

Why it exists

A quotable statement from the developer, free to use in full or in part.

I wanted the confidence to make my own decisions about my own financial security.

“As a dual citizen, I wanted something that would make planning as simple as possible and teach me about the pitfalls in the American system that I was unfamiliar with — enough to give me confidence to make my own decisions about what I need for my own financial security.

As I built it, I realised there is a real gap in the market for this type of product, and I wanted to build something that could help other people gain that same confidence in their own situations.

As a developer for the past twenty years working in an AmLaw 200 law firm, currently focusing on AI, and having previously worked in education as a Head of Department at a prestigious UK preparatory school, I am uniquely positioned to bring all of this together.”

— Paul Hankin, developer of the AI Retirement Income Planner
